AVENEAUX FILMS ON STEBNER SHORTS VOL 3

SHORTS-After completing STEBNER SHORTS Vol 1and 2 Gustavo Stebner has announced a spring production of STEBNER SHORTS VOL 3. The upcoming shorts WOMEN OF BERLIN and MATAME are set to roll cameras in April. Stebner says “I decided to make these two films to balance my work back to the drama genre after completing two volumes of comedy”. No casting details have been revealed but Stebner assures to expect a different tone to the films along with fresh faces.

STEBNER & MEDINA GET BUMPED OFF DEAL

DEALT-According to Brant Bumpers’ office two of the main actors for his upcoming DEALT have been pulled from the production. Gustavo Stebner and Rolando Medina have come to an agreement with Bumpers to no longer be attached to the production as actors or producers due to Stebner & Medina’s relocation plans. “It was a business decision that unfortunately pushes back the movie” says Bumpers “Nevertheless I feel more comfortable going back to the original production slate of late summer”. Bumpers has not revealed the future of DEALT with Aveneaux Films.

PEÑA GOES CRAZY

CRAZY-After completing production on her public service announcement, THE DIRECTOR for the Latino Public Broadcasting and co-production on THE AIR HOCKEY AFFAIR, producer & director, Dora Peña goes crazy on new project. Peña now preps for her adaptation of Lou Mathews’ short story CRAZY LIFE.

RODRIGUEZ DIVES IN POND

POND-Veteran filmmaker Jim Rodriguez returns to director’s chair in the upcoming short THE POND written by Gage Harter. “It’s really quite exhilirating ( I’m psyched!!!). It’s great to be back in the chair” says Rodriguez on the upcoming project. The story explores a girls coming to terms with a secret she keeps hidden deep inside her. Currently wrapping pre-production the director has filled in the principals for cast & crew. The Pond cast includes veteran actor Gilda Longoria and newcomer and one to watch, Tina Enriquez. “The film will be produced by Gilda Longoria, Gage Harter and myself” adds Rodriguez. “George Garcia is signed on to script supervise and Larry Sanchez is Production Manager. I’ll update you on other crew members as they join up.” Cameras begin rollin on March 8th and will continue on weekends (you know, guerilla style) till completion. “We’re aiming for an Underground screening. Right now that is priority numero uno” says Rodriguez.

STEBNER HITS CINEFESTIVAL WITH 3 ENTRIES

CINEFESTIVAL-Aveneaux Films leads the San Antonio block of the 26th Annual Cinefestival with three entries. Floria Gonzalez, Julio Rangel & Gustavo Stebner will be in attendance at the festival for the presentation of 20 OUNCES, OBATALA & THE AIR HOCKEY AFFAIR. WYMORE SPEAKS WITH SERPENT TONGUE

WST-After a holiday hiatus the cast & crew of WST gears up for the completion phase of principal photography which set to run through February. “We’ll be heading into post early February as well as completing the shoot” says WST director William Wymore. Aveneaux Films is set to unveil a teaser trailer at the upcoming Cinefestival.

BUMPERS DELIVERS DEAL

DEALT – After seven months in the drafting phase Brant Bumpers delivers DEALT to Aveneaux Films, where he’ll be directing from his own script. Originally set for a late summer shoot Aveneaux Films has bumped up the production to the spring of 2003 to release the film this fall.

DARK MAGIC SHOW UNDERWAY

FJ-Prepping for the release of his directorial debut of FATHER JACKKILL : DARK MAGIC SHOW, Magician/Illusionist, Rolando Medina speaks on status of film. “Currently we’re compiling the archives as we head into post” says Medina on the status on project. Currently there is no release date for the film says producers Parker & Stebner who are producing and editing the film.

SAT-Writer / director Brant Bumpers announces DEALT as working title for new film featuring Gustavo Stebner & Rolando Medina. The Bumpers’ dark comedy continues developing and will begin casting the rest of the film in September.

MEDINA DOCUMENTARY MOVES FORWARD

SAT-Aveneaux Films has announced the Rolando Medina documentary, Father Jackkill : The Magician of Gore will go into production this fall with Medina writing & directing the doc. Stebner, Medina & Parker are attached as executive producers for the documentary to be released in 2003.

WATER AND DANTE RESURRECTED

SAT-Brothers Stebner & Medina have announced they have redeveloped their Water & Dante script for a feature length production. “It was an important decision for us to grow beyond our original ideology as well as our filmmaking craft” says Medina about the announcement of their feature length debut.
