Last week we were invited by our local MP
Mr Mick Wood to visit him in London and have
a look round the Houses of Parliment.
Here are a few pictures from that day..very busy
with lots of running about to do to get there on time.
One thing that certainly made this trip specail
was the generous gift of 3 First Class tickets
from our friends at GNER.
Sadly didnt get to many pictures of the train
but boy was it comfortable in 1st class..
Shame about the overhead power line problems
cant blame GNER for that.
Thanks Guys!
We would like to take this oportunity
to thank all at GNER for there support
and to say how well they handled the
problem with the power outage. I am
pleased to say at least one company
goes that extra mile to keep customers
satisfied! thanks again.
This is what we had come to see,
well not just the bell tower but
yes the houses of parliment.
Sadly we did not get too much
time to take many photos
inside the building but
here are a few of our day.
The day had been arranged so that we could
meet up with our local MP, get to have a look
round areas of the House which you would normally
not get to see. Due to the problems we had with
the disruption of service on the journey down.
We didnt get as much time as we would have
liked.
However it was more than made up by Mike
who went out of his way to tell us about the
house and of some of the history, even managed
to get an open invite for the next time we were
in London – Not bad for a poltician.
Not only that he likes his cakes as much as the
Scouts did!!!
Oh Yes we even met the Chief Scout.
He was there to bid fair well to the House
Scout Group,,,as he had just retired…this
was his second retirement speach..
Once we had finished our visit,
and to ensure we were not caught
up in the “strike” we decided to take
a flight on the London Eye….Boy that
is high….it doesent look to bad from
the ground but once you are up in
the cabins and looking down you
get to see London from a whole
new angle!! Brilliant.
