During a regular meeting, you can expect to see some of these:

  • To go over any problems you or your group mates are having.
  • To go over one symptom of PCOS or IR and discuss ways to help you.
  • There will be announcements for course dates, if there is enough interest. (see courses)
  • The classes will be kept small to encourage friendship, intimacy and one on one support.
  • It will be held in my home, which will give a safe, comfortable atmosphere.
  • Teaching on how to get help from your doctor and being armed with as much info as possible.
  • Each week we will discuss issues brought up, such as: medication, vitamins, hair removal and more.
  • To go over different diets that do work for those with PCOS and IR and find one to fit your lifestyle, if you chose to.
  • AND MUCH MORE…….

ALL SUPPORT GROUPS ARE FREE!

One thing to remember is that although we include weigh in’s and menu planning help, you do not have to take on a lifestyle change to join the group. This support group is for women with hormonal and insulin disorders, and that is what is included in the support group. So if you are not ready to change your lifestyle just yet, this support group is still for you. We are not pushing weight loss, we want you to be happy in your own skin. We believe that weight loss helps reduce many symptoms of PCOS however, we are here to help you become more comfortable in your own skin.

Please take note that all support groups and courses will be starting in January 22 of 2004!

Each meeting ranges in time, depending on what is being discussed. A typical meeting will last around an hour. However, it is not mandatory to stay for the whole meeting as we realize life is busy sometimes. If you are are having problems and would like to discuss them with your support leader, you may call during the week to arrange a meeting time to discuss your issues one on one.
