We can come do an inspection to locate possible problem areas on your house. These areas could be something as simple as improperly protected vents on your home.

Maybe your chimney is not capped, which not only can be easy access for animals seeking shelter, but also can allow damaging rains to destroy your chimney. Water is probably the most damaging element for chimneys to be exposed to. Which is why we recommend that all chimneys be capped, and waterproofing be applied.

Another location that could be a problem would be the eves of your home. Dormers with eves sometimes are big problem areas, simply because when they are built certain areas might be real tight for a worker to truly secure the siding. Leaving a loose area easy for animals to rip into, and open up to gain access. We can help secure these areas if this is your situation. If your house does not contain any of these tight areas, that does not leave you out. Facia board on the sides of the house running up the roof line along the eves can contain access areas for bats, and flying squirrels. When the siding meets the facia board it leaves openings where bats and flying squirrels can enter. Sometimes these areas are already sealed off when aluminum siding is installed, depending on how the company you hired installed it.

The main thing is you really should have your home inspected for troublesome areas. It will cost you less money to fix troublesome areas before animals invade your house, rather then waiting till you have an animal problem. It will cost you a lot less to proof your home against bats and flying squirrels before they enter. A pest control company will not charge you nearly as much as they would if animals were present. Simply because they do not have to worry about removing any intruders, they can just seal the house up to prevent any problems in the future. This usually only takes one trip, as opposed to multiple trips needed to evacuate the problem animals. On top of all things, animals can cause a lot of damage. There are some areas of your home that it may not be possible to protect, unless the areas are lined with metal, and quite simply that would look horrible.
