CHATTER BETWEEN NAS PENSACOLA & MEDate: Wednesday, July 21 @ 01:39:42Topic The future of the OriskanyShipmates,I have been attempting to persuade the NavAir museum at NASP,  to set-up “streaming, live video”, for those that can’t make it to Pensacola for the “sinking”…Anybody with a computer would be able to monitor the entire event, in “real time” from the comfort of their home…They are considering all options…Here’s a bit of dialog from a comunication I had with the NavAirMuseum’s Chief of operations…Note, that NAS Pensacola has a couple of Oriskany links on the upper right side of their homepage…One is for General Oriskany “reefing” Information, & the other is a survey, THAT WE ALL SHOULD SUBMIT, so that they can get a handle on how many of us plan to attend, & therefore be better able to accomodate us…DIALOG:answering my inquirery….Lee, As you can see, your message has traveled the circuit and now is in my hands.  As the NAS Pensacola Public Affairs Officer, I have been chartered to find as many ways to share the final voyage of the great warship USS Oriskany as possible.  We are exploring every possibility.  In the near term we will have better information on the final sinking plan and better dates for events that will occur.  We will make arrangements for former Oriskany crewmembers to visit the ship while in port, and, if her condition is suitable, go aboard one last time.  We are also exploring the possibility of live signal broadcast of the burial process, but we do not have those details worked out.  We are beginning to post information to a couple of web sites.  Our web site   will carry a large amount of information.  We are working hand in hand with the City and County to put together the best program we can possible put together. Please keep in touch so we can share our most current information.
