Process Modeling & Analysis / Workflow AnalysisBusiness processes, business rules and workflow are inextricably linked to most business transformation efforts. Your work practices and market drivers influence how systems and applications are built and we encourage our clients to assess their business processes when transforming their business and IT infrastructure, whether through application ports, new technology introductions, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) acquisitions, or greenfield applications.

BeggsHeidt helps clients with several key process activities. We facilitate as-is process reviews so the current state can be documented and agreed upon. If needed, the as-is state is assessed against the visions and requirements for the new project, and an Impact Statement can be produced to outline measures that must be taken to integrate the new assets into the business. When new processes or changes are required, we facilitate workshops to identify new work practices (the to-be state), business rules and constraints that will support the company’s vision and the revised infrastructure.

We are a strategic partner of Casewise Systems, Inc., the industry leader in business process analysis tools and solutions. We have also had extensive experience in integrating process analysis with the system development lifecycle (SDLC), such as the integration of Casewise Corporate Modeler with Rational RequitsitePro, Rational Rose and the Rational Unified Process. In addition to Corporate Modeler, we have experience with other process analysis platforms, including Rational Rose and IDS-Scheer ARIS.

As-Is/To-Be Process Migration PlanningEqually as important to identifying new to-be processes is the migration plan that will ease your organization into new the business practices. There are numerous success factors that must be considered when migration from an existing as-is environment, to a new to-be state. Complete 100% cut-over to new tools and practices is rarely successful. Instead, phased cut-overs of processes, technology, data, business rules and user groups are more likely to succeed. BeggsHeidt has helped its clients define and implement the training, methods and procedures, application and data migration, and technology cut-over plans that are required for an organization to successfully introduce to-be business processes.

Requirements ManagementRequirements management should be considered an enterprise-wide program, because business requirements involve most organizations of the enterprise, from executive stakeholders, to users, to the teams that build and manage the systems and applications that are introduced. BeggsHeidt helps its clients design and deploy Requirements Management initiatives by working with them to assess organization readiness and existing requirements management practices. We work closely with the IT organization to assure that new practices can be introduced and the tools can be integrated into the system development lifecycle. We have experience designing management processes that leverage full lifecycle requirements tools, such as Rational RequisitePro (requirements elicitation) and Rational ClearQuest (for change management).

Key Performance Indicator (KPI)Identification & MeasurementWith organizations relying increasingly on business key performance indicators (KPIs) to chart business health and progress, there is a heightened demand to discover new ways to implement technology and software tools to deliver real-time KPI reporting. From our experience with business process analysis, business analysis and system analysis, and through our use of tools such as the Rational Suite, we can assist clients with identifying KPI sources and reference targets in business processes, data stores and derived through application calculations. We also help clients deliver KPI data through points of consumption, such as Balanced Scorecards, Digital Dashboards, and graphical performance reporting solutions.
