The purpose of the organization is to facilitate cooperation between nations in regards to international laws and human rights issues and to help avoid repeats of the terrible wars of the past. When the United States decides it is allowed to break the rules and override the system, what is it all worth? We’ll cooperate as long as the rules are convenient to us. Is it then any wonder that other nations of the world see the United States as a warmongering threat?I don’t see anything wrong with its headquarters in New York. In fact, it could be argued that since the United States had such a strong influence in the development of the organization that it makes sense that its headquarters should be located here. The building is on what is considered international territory in New York so it makes no sense to move it elsewhere. Indeed it makes more sense to me that major international organizations are represented in a diverse number of cities around the world rather than concentrated into one.Last edited by Corlyx; 06-27-2008 at 10:26 AM.
