Born in Odessa, TX in 1984, Ross came from a family with a large musical background. Growing up in private schools, he took music classes as well as participating choir until graduating in 2003. Having an already strong background in music, he hadn’t found the missing piece. In the summer on 1998, he was given his first taste of rock, by a cousin who gave him an Aerosmith mix tape. It finally clicked. “I finally found the music that fit me.”Later that year, the same cousin gave him a copy of Creed’s second album, “Human Clay.”“The guitar playing blew me away and after hearing Mark Tremonti molesting the guitar, I decided that it was something that I wanted to try. So, I dug my dad’s guitar out of the closet and started trying to figure things out.”About a year later, Ross bought his first guitar for and amplifier for $25 from a friend and continued learning and expanding his knowledge of the guitar. In the summer of 2001, Ross formed his first band, Moral Anxiety. They played mostly covers in battles of the bands until breaking up in the winter of 2002.In 2003, Ross left Odessa to go to school in Lubbock, TX. There he reconnected with his cousin and they began working together to form a new band, which would take the name of Tremor. In 2004, the band finally came together and lasted through the winter of 2005, when select members of Tremor decided to take off on their own and form a band called Members of the Bored.Ross wrote, recorded, and produced their first album, entitled “Grey” which led him to a record contract offer. Due to personal circumstances, he was unable to take the offer. “The timing was horribly off. My daughter had barely entered my life, and I couldn’t stand the thought of her missing her daddy. I really couldn’t stand the thought of missing her.”They played several big shows with such acts as Jackyll, Three Days Grace, Saliva, SOiL, HELLYEAH, and more. In September, 2006, Ross and MOB parted ways.At that point Ross started forming the idea of Blood Red Summer and began writing what would be the majority of the first album, “11 Miles to Misery.”Aside from the band, he currently works for the Number One Active Rock Station, 94.5 KFMX and is married and has a 5 year old daughter.
