Habits to Save Your Teen

This course is much like the Secrets of Living with PCOS but is geared towards teenage girls. No mothers are allowed in this course. This course is to help teenage girls understand what is going on inside them. This is the hardest time of their life and they have to deal with PCOS. I have gone through it and the one thing I needed waas support. My mother was a life line for me, but I wiould not want to go through a class like this with her. For mothers want ing to understand PCOS we have a course just for you, which my own mother will help teach. In this course we are going to help your child learn the habits they need to help them gain control of their PCOS, understand that this is not their fault and with help and support, they will be able to gain control. We recommend strongly that if your daughter is going through this course that you take the course, “What our Teen is Going Through.”

PCOS Basics for Family Members

* Basics of PCOS* Mood swings and what to do* What the family can do to help* Understand that this is something you can’t help* Not only women have IR* Talking about the risk on inheriting this disorder* The relationship between PCOS and IR* Members of the family may be frustrated and confused* Learning how your whole family can get involved in a healthier lifestyle

What Your Teen is Going Through

The worst time of my life was going through high school being laughed at and humiliated. Being obese and having way too much hair on my face made me a target. My mother didn’t understand that when I got depressed I ate. She would ask me at dinner if I really needed seconds. She would try to guilt trip me into not eating, she tried everything and I got moodier. I had such a bad attitude and I hated everyone….who could ever reach me? My mom did, in fact my mom saved me from more of a lifetime of misery. My family spent a fortune on treatments and doctors for me, and I was told, “sorry we don’t know how to help you.” But my mom stuck through it. Now my mother and my relationship is the best it can be. We are going to teach you how to help your teen and build a relationship that will last. We will follow up with your daughter also if she is in the course, “Habits to save your teen.” I will explain the role a mother can play in saving her daughter emotionally.

* What about that one more piece of pie?* When the doctor says there is nothing they can do, what should you do?* Understanding what is going on in your daughter’s head.

* One on one help carb proofing your home* Make a list of items to always have on hand, getting rid of hidden carbs.* Decide on a lifestyle change and carb proof your house accordingly. * Help you arrange a system that will work for you if you are the only one in the house changing your lifestyle.* I will help you make a low carb, or complex carb meal for your family

* Shopping trip to teach you how to shop according to your lifestyle chosen*I will go over products you can eat lots of, some of, or none of.* I will teach you to read labels so you know what you can and can’t eat.* Learn to find hidden starches and sugars.*This course is highly recommended after carb proofing your home.

* How can you hide it?* What are your options* Which options work and which ones really are too good to be true?* Is there medication and does it work?* All these promising hair reducing creams, do they work?*Waxing? Shaving? Plucking? Laser? Electrolysis? Depilatories? WHICH ONES?!

This is a hard class to sign up for a s no one wants to admit to excess hair, but ladies just because you finally get to let it out and say I don’t know what to do, makes this class worth it. Keeling it hidden for me was the hardest thing on me. The fact that everone in this class has the same problem, makes it easier to sign up.

Husbands of IR/PCOS Wives

* Now we have a class for your husbands too. My husband is teaching this course and this time I take a backseat, however I am there so your husbands can hear words coming out of my mouth that you may be too embarrassed to say.

* They will learn about PCOS/IR, they will learn why we have mood swings, why we are self conscious sometimes. Oh we will even talk about the dreaded facial hair. We’re not saying you have it, we’re talking about PCOS/IR symptoms in general.

* My husband will talk about how important it was for him to understand, how important it is to tell you he loves you and to keep your self esteem up and why we suffer from depression.

* We hope that through this course your husband will come home, more caring, understanding and patient.

Best of all with this course, you were not the one to tell him what is wrong with you, he got to hear it from a second party….another man!

Other things we are working on:

Low Carb Boot Camp (weekend camp)

Major Jump Start (boot camp in your home)

And there will always be exercises classes going on, so when they are announced, sign up!! (Summer time)
