Rapid Prototyping Services

ARRK provides a range of rapid prototyping services, ensuring you receive the prototypes best suitedto your requirements.

These prototypes may be used to test for form and fit, or as masters for tooling purposeswhere additional plastic or metal prototypes are required. To discuss which method provides the best prototypingsolution for a particular project, .

StereoLithography

ARRK’s high capacity StereoLithography(SL) centre, comprising a fleet of 20StereoLithography machines (6 x SLA 250, 6 x SLA 350, 7 x SLA 500, 1 x SLA 5000), providesyou with fast turnaround and reliability. SL prototypes are delivered in typically 3-5 days from the supply of customers’ design data.

All prototypes are built to+/-0.1mm per 100mm as standard, and finished and dressed tocustomers’ precise requirements by skilled pattern makers. A choice of finishing grades is available, together with painting and texturing options.

Tooling created from SL masters is used to create additional copies in a range of materials using ARRK’s services.

Flexible SLA Parts

ARRK is delightedto offer its customers the next generation in SLA resins.The key advantage of this resin is that it offers customers flexible parts with a high impactstrength. This capability makes this resin ideal for snap-fit parts or where impact strength is all important.

Having been one of the first in Europe to offer the resin, we have seen it develop andgrow in popularity over recent months. Suitable uses include:

  • Interior vehicle components
  • Functional testing

Selective Laser Sintering

ARRK’s Selective LaserSintering (SLS) service enables the supply of tough, durable prototypesin 2-5 days from acceptance of CAD data.

Built of the new Duraform polymide, SLS prototypes are particularlysuited to functional testing in rigorous environments including high temperatures.

Such material properties are normally only achievable within 10 days in polyurethane, using tooling createdfrom a StereoLithography master.

The minimum recommended wall thickness for an SLSprototype is 0.5mm, with little or no finishing required.

5 Axis CNC machine

CNC Machining

Adept at producing large parts or block prototypes quickly, CNC machining is a valuable prototyping option.
